Prezi is a compeltely new tool for me and I really liked it. It doesn;t need to download a program (if you have a mac) and it automatically saves. Also you can just go to Prezi and enter your acount and present rather than ahving to open a program on your computer. Also you don;t have many compies with many anmes when you change something in a anew computer it's all saved online. .Prezi is really cool and has a lot of great effects and it's easier to add/ delete stuff.Prezi is a great tool when you don't have microsoft office, but there are many small things that aren;t better than a powerpoint One thing I didn't liek is that the whole background is always going to be the same color and you can't change it like a slide.
It was easy to understan eveyrthing and tocreat cool paths and add images. I didn;t find anything difficult about it probably at the begining It was hard to chnage colors and font. I guess it was jsut such a new concept that it was different from what I knew of ppt.

If I were given the option I would choose prezi although I liek toc hange colors of my slides. I really liekd prezi, it's faster, easier and it doens't occupy space in you hard drive. Also it;s really cool to jsut creat paths to the things I want to show and the order. The Power Points are complicated and there are tweo many transitions and you have to aplly each one and it's really stressing when you want something neat and fast. Also prezi is online and you don't need to wait to look for your old document and open it and all that when you want soemthing instantly. defenietly I would choose Prezi.Prexi doens;t need you to senfd yourself your presntation if you want tos ee it in another computer.Prezi allows you to work on your presentation and not worry about saving because it's automatically saved. PSA

The last project was to do a PSA for grade 8 about drugs, sex, alcohol,internet saftey and eating dissorders.The video I did was about ALCHOL and how it affects you and others. My partner was Jade,and we worked very good together. Our first ideas were very different from the outcome. We couldn't finish our first idea because we had some complications, but we came up with another one that workerd quite well. The hardesrt part of the making of the video is finding a good idea and then being able to represent it. To make the video we first made a G DOC powerpoint so that we could follow up a guide while making hte video. Also this way we could ddivide the time and see which scenes needed to be longer or shorter.The planning is key to makinga good video because if you don;t plan anything then it's really hard for youa s a producer/director to do the scenes in order adn have everything you need.

If i could change my video probably I would make more scenes of how it affects you. Those are the last scenes but it's hard to show how it affects your brain, liver, heart and body. Also I would take the scenes with a better quality. Another thing i would change are the party scenes I would do it better and not so blurry although they helped with the theme( being drunk). The whole poribn of yhr video is top show how drinking may be fun but it can hurt your and others.The link to the video is here,(click ). There are many details I would change probably the text in the scenes should be stronger, as well as some of the scenes, this way the could have more impact on the audience. Maybe if I used someone else that people didn;t know they woudl take the video more seriously.

There are not so many good videos. The good ones are the ones who you can see that they planned them out and took their time. A great example is Raul and Mahonry. They had a great vieo of SAFE SEX. They had a great video with really good shots and really intresting ideas planted. I really liked the message at the end. The video has great quality. It's clear and there isn;t much talking which is boring sometimes. Also I liked Fernanda Corzo's they did a good video because their dialogues were clear and the acting was good. Althouigh Raul'
s is better they did a great job. Also I loved the music which really captueres your attention. Both of these videos are "stories" which is something that I find very intresting. Courtney's and Hope's was also very good the shots and their story was funny and creative. I liked the slide shot it really helps to relate the video with the title which was "MARIHUANA". Mostly these were the only ones I really liked beacuse they put effort into it.

PSA

PSA is an eduactional advertisment that advertises a public issue or how to solve it. PSA stands for PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCMENT, this organization only launches on air teachings taht are improtant to the society such as drunk driving, anorexia, obecity,drugs, safe sex, Influenza AH1N1 or any other subject. This type of advertisiment appeared in world war II. To aware people of what was going on in the wortld and how to protect yourself. Now days it;s very common to see PSA about being green. Disney channel does thata nd tehy teach kids how to save the planet by doing things at home. It's similar to a commercial because it is made for public and it sells soemthing(not a product but a lifestyle or an idea). Also they both ahve a story they have to be related to the main idea. The difference is that one sells a product and the other awares people.

I would like to work with Ximena. First of all because we are friends, neighboors and we have similar ideas. The other times I've worked with her there hadn't been any issues between us.
Also her being my newighbor(literally door and door) we can see each other evryday and it'll be eassdiert to organize and get everything done.
I also would like to work with Jade-oI've never had the chance to work with her but we get along pretty well and we understand eachother. We live close and we can meet very easily. Also she seems as a good person who'll be organizes and I think we won't have any problems in the way.
I would as well like to work with Courtney. We live reallyc lose and we get along . We understand each other also she is a girl with great ideas and I think her ideas and mine could come up with something really cool and meaningful. I've never worked with her and I think we 'll make a great team. Also we can meet easily because we live really close.

ANOREXIA/bulimia-I'll show a girl who doesn;t eat and look herself in the mirror. Also I'll show how her resitence in sports are decrezassing as well as her strength. I'll show her she faited.Then a nother girl looking at herself and she fgoes to the bathroom and throws up.

CHILD ABUSE-Little kids working and people beating them up(fake of course) Also i'll shoot kids in the streets selling candies and dresses all poorly.The kids will be sad and i'll encourgae them to have an education

COMMERCIALS SUPERBOWL 2011

Commercials are the best way to make you enterprise or product be known by eveyone therefore the better your commercial is the more you'll sell. This superbowl was the perfect opportuinity for mnay new products as well as old to come out and show off the the world what they've got. I loved 2 commercials: Audi A8 "release the hounds, and Camaro Chevy"Miss Evelyn". All of this three had really creative ideas for a commercial.The Audi Is really funny and has some sort of subliminal message that luxury is some sort of prison we need to escape to get to a even more luxurious place or something more luxurious. This commercial is sort of a chase and it has really comic parts. This commercials is definetley well thought and not just some stupid idea videotaped(like most of Dorito's commercials. The second one of "Miss Evelyn" is very intresting to look at because it's the narration of two people who are thinking about doing a commercial of Camaro change from dessert, to city, to a chase in which the driver is a sexy red-haired teacher.This one really caches your attention because there is action in every shot. The story is different and the shots are very good quality. As well as the audi this one is interesting but this one has more shots of the actual product (the car) than of other things like the Audi does.For this commercials companies spend millions of dollars for 1:00 mn on tv. A person would think that if theya re spending so much money then they should make really good commercials although some companies show things that really don't make sense or are just disgusting things to watch. One of them would be the sony android. This video is repulsing because a robot gets human thumbds. The images of the video are terrible it's such a bad image of india or any other poor country. The shots make it look digusting to see and the worst of all, it;s for a phone with PSP. Seriously people?! That's just not right. I can;t even say how much I hate the add.If i were to re-do this add in aprticular. Probably it would be a new whole idea. NO ROBOTS WITH HUMAN THUMBS! First of all it'll be in a hospital not a weird place like int he original, there would be doctors and many people in the waiting room waiting with really anxious and desperate faces moving their thumbs like if they were playing PSP. Then the doctor would grabs some tools and do somtehing to the thing in the table but the audience can;t see it. Then the doctor will say "We did it"and nurses will applaud and then a nurse will go to waiting room and say WE DID IT! everyone will scream shout and cry ther will come out with he phone in his hands open it and show the controls on the PSP and then the narrator will say something like "NEW SONY NOKIA PSP, READY TO PLAY?". Yeah, it would have been a much better idea.

Aprt from this, in class we did commercials as well, the one I loved was Jorge's . It was hilarious and he actually did a pretty good job.

effective adds

Advertising, marketing and broadcasting a product otr an idea for a company is very important. Latley we've watcher over 10 adds for different things looking for the msot effective. There was a dove commerical of how we think make-up will make people look prettyy but it's mostly photosop and A LOT of makeup .There is a learn english which is fvery funny because it shows how important it can be to learn english IF YOUR'RE WORKING. There was one of the carr which i hated because i didn't got the m,essage at all. it was quite weird. I liked all of them because they all have a different idea and audience it all depends on what you're trying to look for in an add. There are funny adds, sad,weird and quite commplex sometimes.Mostly funny adds are what captures more my attention rather than sad adds. There is a heinken beer comercial which i fid hillarious. A commercial that's had a great and profund imapct on me is the one of the deaf girl that learns to play violin. Here it is

This video is long but emotive ut makes you feel that you can do wahtever you wish for if you arwe really committed to. Watching this girl follow her dream of becominga great player gives you hope on yourself when you feel you can't move further.I think the fact that the girl is being told she can;t do it and she could even if she was deaf makes you really remember.

I'll try to use something catchy because that's waht makes people remeber the prouct or the idea your selling. Also i''l do something you can relate lo real lidfe rather than just some weird thing happening in antartica. Music, and a great idea are the main things i want to use. I also want to use something that causes emotion adn awakens a feeling in the audience.\

Self Reflection

Talk about the process that you went through to create your comic. What did you like/dislike? Did you find it difficult or easy? Comment on your final product, do you think it deserves to be put in the library available for sign-out?

The last computer/english project was to do a comic book of a specific act on Shakespear's famous play Romeo and Juliet.On my team was Rodrigo and Raul.There were some mis undertandings ancd complicatiosn in the way but we managed to pull it off almost perfectly, and late. We had little time. The mayor problem is taht we don;t have comic life in our mac's or laptops minimizing our chnaces to work on it on the weekend. There are so many things to look for and detils to arrgange during ht eprocess which i think made everyone crazy.There were many things I disliked such as the time it took to upload or change a picture. The computers are very slow and that was one thing that i can;ted to rip my hair out of my head forI liked using Comic Life Delux Edition because it's very creative way of presenting something taht is so complicated as Romeo and Juliet. Also the effects and the way it actually maes simple images look like if they were in a comic. One of my favorite effects was "MARVELOUS". Taking the pictures was relly a lo of fun becuase we had to wear weird clothes and dresses. This roject sure put everyone on their creative side which is something I really love.About this project i'm not really sure it should be in the library because i think it's not a very good quility (talking about mine).Though it really helps to understan better it's not really what you would look for when studying. Proably a little more dedicatiobn and details would make this a good piece for the library.

Comic books are execllent tools to learn from when it comes to complicated themes. The comics make the story resumed and only highlight the important partts. This style is fun to, easy to read and you'll get visual aid as you read along. The serious matters are easier to comprehendr when simplified exteremeley to their most importantsituations. This is exactly why comic books are so easy. They take a big piece and chunck it down. Also in comics you can make amazing things happen whithout them looking weird like it would in a paragraph.Another amazing thing is that you can add dialogue to the characters and make it more interesting than just a normal hyphen and text as they do in the books. Comic books are a fun way to learna bout serious literature.

a day in the bay

Through out the making of this video i though of many themes it could fit in... At the end I decided it was more of a fantasy life by the beach.This theme explains how beautiful it is to live in such aa place where there is that beautiful and mysterious ocean. The theme was decided by hours and many repetitions of the video. The images all seemed to fit into the category of life by the sean rather than paradise, my life, or nature. This theme also makes the video not only revolve around myself but around everyone tat lives here.The importance do the theme is not great because everyone can give the video it's own theme depending on their perception of the images and videos that create this project. There are more images than video. Though throughout the video there are many images that are edited. The shots from the highway and the jungle make this video more like a journey and a voyage in time rather then just images. Probably if I didn't mentioned this it would only look like if it would look to the viewer as random shots to the jungle.This video is to show the beautiful life there is by the sea.

To make this video I used many images and videos. This project was easy because it was about things that we do and things that we like. To accomplish the task i used I movie which is an application of Apple to make videos. It easier than other programs. There is many important details i considered in making the video, like making it interesting and not boring and i hope i met that goal. The song i picked is "If you run" by the Boxer Rebellion this song is one of my favorites and it reminds me of my life here in Vallarta and that's why I picked it. Adding the transitions and the effects was fun because you are changing the normal boring ways of things. I think I might have gone to far on that.I didn';t realize this until i had already uploaded the video but as you may see some videos are very long and that could probably make the video boring. I enjoyed-the making of this project because it made us all try to understand and find things that we like and the put them all together to show what we do.

ONE

The video/trailer is amazing. I find it very intrresting that so many people are putting theiur time in their lifes to gather a bunch of videoas and images of their daily lifes or moments in theit lifes to show it to the whole world. The video is very appealing and it captures your attention really fast bceause it contains so many images with very different purposes and ideas of many thousands of people. The message on the film is about love sharing and unity. Tjhis video is to unity everyone and ina sublime messgae make them realize taht nomatter where you are all over the owrld there is people enjoying life and doing the things that they love, just like you.

The whole video is ver powerful. The part I found really awsome is the man with one leg jumping in some sort of a competition. Also i really liked how each video has it's own energy and it;s own perception of an individual. This video inspires unity and I makes you want to go out and explore the world, talk to people you don't know and do crazy things.This video includes positives and negative things about life. IT has death, soldiers and them they show whales and babies and beauty of nature. This video gives you a lot of things to think about life and how you are not the only one taht is living and that the world doesn't revolve around you, as many might think.

fuel efficency

By reading this infirmation I come to understand taht myc ar uses to much enegy and it should be less because that meanse it need to fuel up more often. I also believe taht the governement doesn;'t let really effective cars come out because they want people to buy fuel so that the econmy increases and tehy get richer. Walking and bike take syou less energy and less time. tehrefore if you really have to get soemwhere you should use a car and if not a bike. The contamination an golbal warming are caused by non efficient cars.I think taht by the time i buy my own car there will be somethuing different that is not fuel and the cars will be more efficient. Also yes we should look at more efficient cars because that way we can save more moeny and energy.

FUEL CARS

My car, TOYOTA HIGHLANDER 2009 uses annualy, 516.72 L/100km . This is the amout it uses in the route from my house to the school and back.This amout is greater than my dream car, a AUDI TT COUPE QUATTRO2011, which is 419.37 L/100km annualy.The reason i think the toyota uses more gas is probably because it's size. The Audi is smaller car that has a better engine and a better gas efficiency. This type of car are very expensive but they save you 100 liters, so it saves you a lot of money. I would rather have the Audi because it's better car and it'll be more efficient. I hope cars some day get cheaper and gas more efficient and last longer.The gas efficency is always really important. Though this cars aren;t the most efficient, the have a good fuel efficeny.

Google Earth

This project has not yet made me happy to be working on it. I personally don;t find (yet) the purpose. Even though I'm open to learn about it i wish it was more accurarte the satelite visiona nd more flowing when it changes locations. Today I had the esxperince to observe my classmates tours. I first looked at Pacos. His was very intresting and the places were unusual. I think to improve he could either make more specific points like the places where he's stayong in every place and things like that. I realized he had descriptions for every place. That was a really good thing because I could undersatnd what he wanted to do. The imgaes , though, took very long to charge and to get moving and load. I think it should be faster and the changes slower. Next project I saw was PP. He ahd like Paco a really good trip. His images were m oved and you could see he moved them with the mouse and not clicking in the links. More description and less stoping and moving around in such weird movements would be way better. Also I think that the image qualitty was really abd evern if you can egt close to the house it loads very slow and it becaomes boaring to look at the projects. The last one I saw was Feris. She did it about her summer it was really cool and it was very detail of every palce she went. She should have added a little more detail and information to complete the assignement way better. Same problem but less notuicable in this one anout the image quality.\

In my project I would add m more detail and notes in th weplaces. The image quality I had was bad but I think I didi pretty good on spoting every place I was at. The image soudl etake less to load. I would re do it? yes. I think the second time i would eb more czrful and because now i know how to not let it look bad I'll avoid those things and improve. I think this prokject was fun but boring as to finding every specific place. I hope my next experience with Google Earth to be better and less strressing.

J O Y

There are many things that we all do everyday that never seem like much until you realize how important they really are. Like me, today I Just went to school to "find my way to the future" as some people say, I think we all could find our way to the future, without going to school.Though I still believe school is very important in the formation of a civilized and well mannered human being.School is an everyday adventure for me . Everyday i learn soemthing new and i am with people that make me laugh .After the 6 hours of continuous learning , I went home, in my way home I was amazed by t he way a simple force of nature can bring us all together . When i say this I'm talking about the bridge. Gravity, water,and age made the bridge fall down and it has made 2 states that are constantly arguing and competing come together to find a solution that will help them both. Another thing that I just did was eating with my family.When I eat with my family and we all share our day and our experiences, it keeps the bond between us that sometimes it feels like it's disappeared.It's an amazing feeling, not only because we're finally eating a good meal after a crazy morning, but because everyone has put their little sand grain to be happy and to come together.

One of the many things I would like to do for my self, would be to learn how to not be afraid of life. There has been many times when I fell fear;wheather it be the ocean , a extreme thing or saying what I really feel. Everyone wants to be treated nice and that's why we most of the time keep our rage and hate secret until one day we take it all out and making things worse. I think we should talk about things when they happen because that the right moment instead of letting thins pas by. I feel like we've been all trying to be nice to everyone all our life and sometimes that's not the right thing to do. I found most people to be afraid of life, afraid of themselves even but that's not the way it should be. I want to be able to have fear for things but have the guts to say, I'll do it.; of course only if it's safe....not like jumping of a bridge that's 45 mts tall.Maybe this direction that Mr Mark gave us was for something to do for ourselves was more for an answer like running more or doing more charity things or things that will help us is other ways but this question made me think of me of who I am. I thinks that we are all capable of running more and all those things so it didn't seem like a real goal because it's actually very easy, and if you want to do something for yourself it should be something that makes you work hard so that when you achieve it you actually feel it was all worth it.

I;m a very special person as well as everyone, but there are many things that make me special like the ones i'll explain next.Being special is being a thinking human being because no one not even twins are the same so we are all special in our own secret and mysterious way. Something that makes me special is the way that I think of things and always try to make it better.Making things look better will give you a broader look of the situation and the ways to fix things, a better way of learning from mistakes.Another thing that makes me very special is being who I am. Maybe this paragraph will seem like I think I am incredible and all that but the truth is that the more things that you accept from your self weather they'll be good or bad the better person you'll be. Going back to the topic , I think I can almost always get what I want, not by doing it the wrong way but by understanding others and trying to find a way in which we both benefit .Another things is that i follow my lead and I like to accept people the way they are. Of course we are not all perfect and I make mistakes but sometimes we all get carried away and forget who we are and finding our way back will makes us MORE SPECIAL!The most important things that make me special is that I don't try to be like others and that I have special friends that make me even more special.

TYPING GRAPHS

The speed graph shows the realtins and the difference between both net and gorss speed. The graph hel us compare the and realize how much I have improved and how much I went up and down in my scores. The graph is a bar (column) graph. The gross is in color blue and it is higher than the net speed (color orange). This graph shows all the results in the year and it help us look for times when my scores werte't as good, or were better.The net speeds are measured and paired up in two columns so that we can see how much we advanced in the year.

The graph I chose for accuracy is a line graph. The graph has the percentage (%) i the Y axis and a numer to see how many times it was done in the X axis. The graph shows ho much i improved.

This year , IN MY OPINION, I actually did adavnced in my typingskills. Now I can almost type really fast and without looking at the keyboard/ I still do some mistakes but I'm sure i'll get past them . I think we shhould really learn yo type faster and that'll help us with school work and other things in luife. Next year typing should vbe included to help us imprve our typing skills and become better writters in computers. Aalso it's not hard andmanybe alittle boringbut if it's actually helping us then it should be included.

MAP SCORES

The graphs are very usefukl but the bar graph is way better than the other because it's clear and compares the other results.





This graph shows clearly the increase and it compares my other results with the newer or older ones. To me thias is the best graph because I can see how much I iomprved and decresed my socres in the past years.

This graph shows more my increase in a more smooth way. it shows them all together and it gives key points to parts wererit has increased or changed. This graph is a good graph but stil the bar graph is best.

This graph shows my increase and decrese as the one above but this one is alittle more presise in the ups and downs in m,y scores. This graph shows a drastic fall and the the increase. At the end of the line it shows an increase that keeps going showing us tjhis is not the last test and the graph will keep on gorwing.

OIL SPILL

The night of April 20 the 2010, off the coast of Louisiana, a Deepwater Horizon rig exploded, killing 11 workers. The oil spill is expanding into the Louisiana's coasts and the Gulf of Mexico. Experts estimate that this oil spill would be greater then the < charset="utf-8">Exxon Valdez tanker spill off Alaska in 1989.The one who released 11 million gallons and was the worst spill at sea.Louisiana wasn't ready for this and is called in state of emergency. The oil company, asked the government fot help from the naval to stop the oil to invade coastal areas. Some fisherman are being asked for their boats to help the navy to control this terrible man-made mistake. The damages this will cause to the wildlife in that are terrible.Louisiana was recovering from Hurricane Katrina in 2005, some parts of the flora and fauna were rebuilding in the damaged areas. This oil spill will kill many of them and for sure damage the conditions that people in the costs of louisiana live in.The slick is being blowed and carried by currents and now threatening 5 states.

There aren't many solutions yet to this problem but people should start worrying more about it and start acting.The Pentagon sayas that the air force will be spreading chemicals to destroy the slicka and stop it from spreading, some people are concerned that this could cause more damage to the eco-life.The company is suffering two solutions but their solutions will take a long time to be done. One of them is to pipe up all the oil and bring it to the surface, the other is to drill a well to capture the oil and to switch off the release button.There are some orange barriers to keep the oil from expanding into the coastline. This oil spill will kill many oceanic life. OYSTERS, SHRIMPS, LITTLE FISHES, PELICANS, TURTLES, and many more animals will suffere the price of human mistakes. The world now revolves around petroleum and with something like this happening world will face with the loss of the millions of barrels lost in the deep water will be gigantic, the loss of a non-renewable resource that every country in the world is fighting for. This should encourage scientists and inventors to create another source of energy for the future of automobiles.

MAP TESTING

Last week we took MAP Testing from Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) , this test consists of an semestral check on your adavncement in school subjects. You take MATH, LANGUAGE AND READING. This year no one was really motivated or willing to put their best effort in the test. Most kids only did the eenie meenie minie moe . This is not good either for students or teachers. I think they should make more intresting pictures. There should be more color and a wider variety of questions. Many times we ha the same content but with different questions and that was boring. In fact the test was really boring and seemed very slow.The testing is really good when it comes to the system,by that I mean that you go to higher and more difficult quesions if you get right the question beinga sked and if you get it wrong, you stay o tat level or go to an easier one. Some questions were really easy and sometimes it felt liek you weren't getting anywhwere. To me there is really no point of doing it. If kids need help they will get it, we are no longer in primary to be told what we are doing wrong. I think they should do a test like the old SAT which were of filling the little holes beacsue taht one was more intresting because you had a physical test infront of you. I don't like or dislike the tests. I just really would encourage all to make it more graphical, add more color . I dion;t think I did better in my test than last time ebcause this time we all just want to get out school and we don't put mcuh effort in things that don't affect our grades.The MAP test was boring and i ereally would like to change the way they test us .
