During a video we saw today a teacher says they are becoming like entretainers. That's totally tru. Now days us, the students, we expect teachers to make their class and thier work fun and to entretain us because if they don't do it then we lose interest in their class and we diustarct others or we start doing our own thing.That is not good for teacxhers becaudse then mostof the students are not paying attention adn so all the things they are saying are being said for nothing because at the end there will be more questions and douts and they'll have to repoeat it for millions of times.Here in school the teachers entreain us by making us watch movies or telling their personal stories. They also try to get in our world to make us do things we like but make us do it for school.They are different from entretainers because we are forced to do those things . Also because they go back to the same boring teaching skills after some time of "entretaining"The possitive things about this is that we become more exited about goiunbg to their class and maybe things bevcome less stresfull and we become more respectful and less hateful.The negative thing is that when they use some of the other teaching skills we demand to be entretain and that could be tierd for a teacher to find different ways of entretain 100 students . Also then teachers and students get carried aways into other topics and the pint of the school subject is lost. Also students won't see the teacher as someone they should be respecting AT ALL TIMES and they will start to joke around and take advamce

COMPUTER AT HOME
Today we use the computer for almost everything. It's use has come all the way that now we can take computers in a asmaller scale and with bigger memory all around(laptops).Computers are very different form book , T.V, magazines and Video Games .Compared to Books that you have to have physically to read a bout them , in the computer you can just look the book up and there are sites when they have the whole thing uploaded and it's alll away form a click ; not having to go to a bookstore or to the librbary.T.V. is most like a computer but the difference is that you can't foward or rewind a movie or a clip and if you are looking for a spocial thing you have to wait and you never know exactly when it'll be transmitted. In computers you look up clips, movies, add,s and extra information from all the things yousaw or you could see ina T.V.Magazines are more complete than a book because they contain mostly information about everything and unlike T.V. you can find the add you need or the photo of someone faster, but magazines come only once a month and sometimes you need more informsaytion about something instanly and the magzine wont provide it until next month. In videogames now they are like a ocmputer , you can go online with your friends and have chat talks with them all. The only problem is that you need ot have XBOX LIFE. or sometihnglike that. Computers now are used so much at home . hOMEOWRK, fUN, ENTRETAINMENT...In houses today the computer is used mostly by Teens and then by younger kids that like to go play. Also it is used by parents for work .In homes there are no longer many desktop computers there are more lap-tops that can be moved around to many many places.The bed the room the kitchen the living room...The computer is use in extremes . Morning day night. This is because you can get the answer you are loking for easily and you find all your frinds logged on and you can talk to them and even see them through a video chat.Computer are everyone's double life.

This christmas was the end for a twisted akwerd year. OF all other holidays christmas was the most waited for in the whole world. christmas doesn't only gathers all the families together but it brings a new start to everyone. This year my family decided that like every year we were going to Mexico City with all my family to the traditional dinner. We were going there for one week and then we'll head back to Vallarta to spend New Year here with friends. This is the first year we do this. Other years we had to go the full holiday to Mexico City. It really didn't bothered me until the second week because all myt cousisn were away in their holiday.

So we started our journey one saturday. I think it was the 19 december. We drove through the beautiful highways full of color and beauty. WE drove 9 hours til we got to Mexico City. In Mexico City we visited cousins friends family and almost all the people i've met there when we lived there. So many thoughts went through my head there. I wondered if i ever would go back there. There were pro's and con's but at then end i remebered how much i awaited my returned to what i call now Home.In Mexico we went shopping with my grandma. Other days we would go to the salon to get our hair or nails done. There were many family reunions. In all the thinkintg and the time i spended with my family i realised how much i miss my friends there. i hope i could have kiddnaped them and brought them to Vallarta.Also my mom is really into cultural things so we had to go to the "turibus" . That is a bus that takes you all around mexico city's historic center and things like that.

In Christmas eve we went to my dad's parents house. My dad has 11 brothers and sisters. It's a pretty big family. I love spending time with them. They are all lovong and caring. Every Christmas i help with the cooking. i love to cook specialy with my uncle Ale who makes me laugh of all the funny stuff he sayas about the food. The moost i like of being there is that all the family that live in guadalajara US canada and Europe gets together. We left back to Vallrta the 16. We headed to the small village of San Miguel de Allende. I had so much fun there .It's so colorful and has kept the look of a mexican village in this modern era. S.m.De Allende was really cold. I had to use 2 sweaters and a scarf ans still I was freezing. We slept there and then we went to Tlaquepaque. It's a little town near Guadalajara. I love goingthere there is so much to see. After Thoise wonderful places we headed to Guadalajara to have doiner in my cousins new Restaurant called "LA UVA". = I RECOMENDED SO MUCH IT IS SO GOOD. Nect morning we headed backt o vallarta. I could smell the ocean miles away. I was desprate to get there. When we arrived i felt i could finally breath and relax.

In vallarta i went to the beach to the movies to my friends house. I felt like home i was so glad we dodn't had school becaude i had nothing to worry about no homework to finish before morining. I couldnt stop smiling. The 31 we went to the house of the Tron Family. There we had NYears with Priscila Courtney Sebastian Diego frank Julian MArco Mateo Dani .. I had so much fun and i was so happy to be with all my friends. The girls my age got permission to go to a night club called Cesars. There we met woith Adri and her cousins. I couldn't be happier. I thinbk it was the best of all the New Years ever. Next days i watched movies and movies and more movies and relaxed went to the beach and had fun doing nothing. The last day i had to do all my homework which i was really pissed by because i couldn't belive teachers left us hoemowrk when the Chroistmas Break was to realx ans stop thibking about school and worring. I thibk we already need more vactions . They went so fast but now that i think what i did i feel i 've donde so many things since the last time i walked out of the school door.

This year is new and i feel it's going to be great. Better than last year and than the year before.

ROLLER COASTER

Today, December 14 2009, the twelfth grade of the American School presented their “school-made-rollercoasters”. They had to create a rollercoaster that had at least two loops. It was an enormous challenge to put everything together. Some of them used ½ tubes others complete tubes or opened tubes. There were points taken off the more your tube was closed. This obviously made the “ride” more exiting and difficult to complete. The loops had to be calculated and the energy and the speed in which the marble rolled down the tube had to be exact. If something went wrong then they would lose points. They didn’t only used physics but art. They were also graded on their theme. They had to have an original idea to win over all the other. Some did: Alice in Wonderland. This one was full of color and had pictures of the actual movie this one was made by Ricardo Stein, Raffael Kollinger, Rodolpho de la Llanta. There was also FIFA soccer. At the end when the marble rolled to the last part it entered the goal. This was very creative from J. Rafael A., Paulina A. and Sandra Alvarez. Another very creative one was the Oriental Castle made by Eric S, Alicia and Heather. This was decorated with dragons, bamboo, and Light balloons. A very interesting theme was Victoria, Daniela and Andrea’s coaster. They used the theme of NY. It had pictures of time-square. The Jungle was made by the new students of 12^th garde. The sweetes was Mrifer, Melida and Lea’s Candy mountain. It was covered in candies and as a bonus they gave cotton candy. There was one made by Diego Tron, Ruslan Gomez ,Alex Riviere and Carlos Vital that suffered dmages when they were transporting it to school. In one of the bumps the coaster flew up and got destroyed.If they ever made them real I would ride all of them just to feel the different expreinces with everyone’s different theme.And creativity. They would attarct many visitors because they are so different from the "NORMAL" rollercoasters of amusment parks. All of them worked. The marbles rolled perfectly and they completed their ride. They did an amazing job. A lot of thinking and fixing but at the end they did it. Just like their project they had their us and their downs but they made it thorough the ride alive.

Hey! To start my name is Debora. I was born April 22 1995 in Mexico City. I lived there for 11 years , i really liked a lot there it's a big city with malls and restaurants.. I went to a french school.After being 11 years in mexico city my parents decideds to move to Puerto Vallarta. Here i made new friends and discovered a whole new lifestyle. I have a family that consist of 5 people: Mymom Frida , my dad Santiago, my sister Alexa(12 years old) , my brother santiago (9). My family is all over the world i have famli;y in belgium , mexico city, tokyo,greece, spain, guadalajara and other plkaces. My dad has 11 brothers and sisters. It used to be very common oyt have those ammounts not any more. My mom has 1 brother and 1 sister . I lovr oy be with my family in big family meetings. i live in Nuevo Vallarta that is 15 minutes from school.My school is the American School of Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta is a samll town. It has 350,000 residents and attracts almost 3 million visitors annually.It has about 25 miles of beaches.My favorite is Punta Mita the water is very clear and is like a wildlife park.I love to live here. For example the weekends you can either go to the movies or to the beach.You vcan go hiking upo the mountain, boat rides, water skiing,shopping( my favorite activity),or do whatever you wnat.

SO now it's time to talk more about me.Well, i'm easy going and i make friends very fast. I'm empathetic and i try to look the bright side of things. People say i'm very positive.I'm not shy i rather people to know me the way i am from the first moement they are with me than them getting a diferent idea of me every time. I have amny friends that are very close to me. I am very respectful to my techers and friends. I help my friends with any type of problem they have.I;m very stylish and i L-o-v-e FASHION. I have 2 cats that i absolutly love and 2 little birds. I love animals and if i could i would give them al home no matter their species.I do my best in school but sometimes i get distarcted. I'm about 5"5 i have light brown hair or dark blone hair . It's wavy some days other it's staright. my eyes are brown iwth the sun light they seem clearer. I'm tanned but not very dark it's kind of a gold tann. I really don't like to talk about my self because i feel like very selfish and very self centrated when i;m not. I love languages and sunsets. I don't care about what religion what race or where people are form i treat them all equal. My goal in life is toi travel and discover many places.When i grow up i want to do something related to design but that's not fashion design or interior designer. Some adults say i could study communications, politics, and exterior relations.I get alone with everyone and i try to be kind to all. I enjoy going to school because i foiund it like another excuse to be with my friends. I have friends of all ages. Even the 12 grader are my friends. I love to be with people and get to know them.I love to be barefoot and woth my hair undone.

Listening to all the mash ups is very cool and interesting it gives you a different idea on what other people feel, and how they think.In my mash up i most use a music background and a voice. The reason i used them the most was because the background music help all the project get together and it also was like a loop for other parts.My friends/ classmates used a lot a "Punch" sound. I liked it because it gives beat to the song and a compass. Something hard to do was to put it all together in the right times. Like for example i used more than n 4 different ones ans they were like new tracks so then in the fifth i couldn't see the 1 so to get them together was hard.

Everyone's are really cool but some could use more things. In my opinion we all got the main idea and all the mash ups were awesome. They were so different and very creative.l You can see the type of music they like and see how they feel. Also they were incredibly moving and with a constant beat. Some used a guitar a lot and i had fun listening to some of them I wish i could have listened to more. I feel like this project thought us so many new things that we'll use in the future projects.

MUSIC

We've been working in so many things in computer class. The last project was a Mp3 music mash up with only sound effects. It was hard to pick the right sounds and make them flow correct. We had to augment the sounds so it lasts 1:45 . Also a difficult part was to make the sounds repeat. It took me a little while until i learned the basic thing. I was a little frustrated at the beginning.Talking about music , in school we have a talent show. This year the theme was AMERICAN IDOL. i think Ximena, Courtney and Ferris win. They are singing something and i really like them and i want them to be happy and if winning makes them happy i wish to them the best luck of all.I think we should do this activity next year but we should change it to use different songs but only the beginnings, and no excel things! Anyway this project thought me new things that I'll be able to use later. Thanks a lot Mr. Mark for the patience with this project and the weird internet connections.
